We are thrilled to share Jessica & Tom’s Mystic wedding on our blog!  While we only communicated via email and phone up until the big day (as we are finding most of our clients tend to do), we knew that we were going to have an awesome time with them.  Mainly because Jessica & Tom are so fun and laid-back!  They wanted a relaxed feel to their day – to be able to enjoy it and participate in it (crazy right?).  They didn’t want the day to feel like one big organized photo shoot.  Which is perfect for us because that’s exactly our style.  While we did help direct them for their portraits, the rest of the day was all about us hanging back and capturing the magic as it was happening.  We communicated with them before their wedding so we were all on the same page about what to expect, and to be prepared for the unexpected.

And the magic did(!!) happen, all at the Inn at Mystic, in Mystic CT.  We love the venue.  It has so march charm and elegance, and we’ve never met a tented reception that our lighting doesn’t love 🙂  And having everything in one location is super smart as there isn’t any time lost due to traveling.  Which we know their guests also appreciated!

There wasn’t a moment when Jessica & Tom weren’t completely swept up in each other’s presence.  Always laughing and smiling.  There were so many great little moments between the two of them.  A quiet inside joke or a knowing look was always present.  And we loved how excited their friends and family were to help Jessica & Tom celebrate their day.  Their bridal party had an infectious energy that was a joy to be around, and kept us pressing on through the 95 (!!) degree day.  And when the guys weren’t happily goofing around with each other they were burning up the dance floor, heat-be-damned.  And the girls looked so gorgeous in their differently coordinated dresses with bouquets by Lilium Florist.  Thank you Jessica & Tom for having such an awesome day for us to photograph!  We wish you both all the best – it was an honor spending the day with you both.
